Vista -  Black Screen upon logon/password change
Hi, What about the other user accounts in this computer? Does this issue occur if the user account to change the password before expired time? Is it able to change the password now with this same account? Hello, I have a general user whose password had expired and he was required to change it. When he tried to do this, the system desktop would only show a black screen with the mouse cursor after the login screen. We tried to run explorer via the Task manager, but when CTRL+ALT+DEL is hit the screen went back to the login screen and he was required to change the password, creating a loop. We were able to fix this by logging into the local admin account and changing his password through Computer Management, then he was able to log on normally. My concern is, when he is required to change his password again, will this continue to happen? Has anyone else encountered this and is there a solution? System in question is running Windows Vista Business Service Pack 2 (build 6002). It is a standalone, no network connectivity so all accounts are local.
